I work in the nonobjective, expressionist style with a select palette for each composition. My work frequently includes distinct lines or blended spaces of paint that convey a calculated manipulation of color to enhance a positive or negative area in the composition. A controlled chaos on large canvas that gives a visual effect of a unified display of movement.
My creative range is wide and eclectic. I will often revert to adding realism to my work. However, exploiting the variable physical character of paint and its mistakes makes for a challenge while creating. Those variables and mistakes become a free and spontaneous display of personal expression and emotion.
All my artwork has been a challenge. Reaching beyond myself by combining materials, colors, and spatial arrangements that are unlikely to go well to turn into a finished piece is satisfying to both the artist and the viewer.
